The Lindner Family Tennis Center in the Cincinnati suburb of Mason, Ohio, is the home of the Western & Southern Financial Group Masters & Women's Open. It features three tennis stadiums, and is the only venue outside of the Grand Slams with more than two permanent stadiums.
The professional tournament, also known as the Cincinnati Masters & Women's Open, began on September 18, 1899, and is today the oldest tournament in the United States played in its original city. The event moved to its Mason home in 1979 (after being played at numerous venues in Cincinnati including the Cincinnati Tennis Club) when four courts were laid and temporary bleachers erected.
The Lindner Family Tennis Center is the only venue in tennis that feature more than one permanent stadium. Cincinnati has three permanent stadiums: Center Court (capacity: 10,500), Grandstand Court (capacity: 5,000) and Court #3 (capacity: 2,000). All three have lights to allow for night play. The site has a total of 10 courts and tennis matches may be played on up to five of those courts (depending on the day and the tightness of the schedule). Enjoy world-class tennis and volleyball right here!
The venue also hosts or has hosted the AVP Cincinnati professional sand volleyball tournament, special events such as concerts and Hospice of Cincinnati's annual fundraising event, and numerous national and regional college and high school tennis tournaments.
Browning, Day, Mullins & Dierdorf of Indianapolis has been the architectural firm of record for the venue since its beginning.
